The lodge is located in Marloth Park, so you won't be left without visiting animals, various antelopes, zebras, warthogs came to us, we saw giraffes and monkeys nearby, it's very cool! We had a two-room lodge in the loft style, everything is new and beautiful. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you need to bring food with you, there is nothing in the boat and the staff speaks and understands English very poorly. We were without a car and the manager who took us to the nearest Spar in the Marloth Park territory helped us out a lot, for which we are especially grateful to her. It was about an hour's walk one way. We were there for two days, I thought it was enough for this location. You definitely need to visit.

We had an amazing stay! The place was exceptionally neat and clean, making it feel comfortable and inviting. The staff went above and beyond with their friendliness and helpfulness, which made our experience even better. Great value for money and a good base to explore Kruger or stay over night before entering the park. Colin the owner and Marina (locally) were fantastic from the beginning to end. Very near to the river, less than a 5 minutes walk with clear view of Crocodile River and Kruger NP. Animals roaming Marloth Park free and we had Impalas visiting us plus few giraffes and warthogs along the main road. Room was very good with all the amenities. Staff were lovely and we even got our car washed before returning to Johannesburg. The only small issue I would say is that the inner roads can be challenging for small car so drive carefully.

We truly enjoyed our stay. Any problems we had was resolved immediately. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The staff ensure that you enjoy your stay, the animals were fed very close to were we stayed so we could watch the animals from our room. I would definitely return!

A huge house like in a Disney cartoon - animals are everywhere :) Marloth Park is a unique wildlife+accommodation project. The town and its villas are drowned in trees and bushes full of animals roaming around. We were excited to see giraffes, kudu, warthog, zebras, impala, wildebeest, monkeys and other animals all around the village. They roam freely, so meeting them everywhere is a part of staying in Doringpoort lodge :) The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a huge dining/living room, 3 bathrooms with 2 showers, a fully equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils, a BBQ area and and outdoor dining hall - all with fantastic wooden handmade designer furniture and some antique items. The beds are comfortable, there's always electricity available as they have a generator on the property, European sockets, Wifi and hot water. There were no mosquitoes in our rooms. The pool is 3 by 2 metres, very nice to realx after a day of safari. Kruger Park is right across the river from Marloth Park, and Crocodile River Bridge Gate into the park is 20 min drive. We walked 100m to the river and saw the animals of Kruger park there - Hippos, elephants, buffalo and a multitude of birds... In the evening, while we were making a BBQ, Bush babies came to visit - we fed them bananas :) We also visited a wildlife park right in the middle of the village - Lionspruit reserve. It takes 2-3 hours to drive around, and we saw all kinds of wonderful wildlife very close to us... Amazing! Marina, the manager of Doringpoort, was always there for us. The cleaning was every day, everything was very tidy and efficient. Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience! · The property exceeded our expectations :)

We were friendly received by Merina and Halston and they looked well after us. The unit was comfortable, well equipped, neat and cleaned every day. We can without any doubt recommend Soetdoring. Potential visitors must be aware that the last 500m of the road is challenging and that the en-suite bathroom is small. We will definitely be back.

We had a very relaxing time. Enjoyed the quietness and also the nature around us. We will definitely use this facility again. The wifi just doesn't pick up at the point where we have stayed but haven't bother us due to the fact that we were there to rest. But is definitely something to look at for others
